Super Lemon Haze is an award-winning sativa-dominant hybrid (80% sativa / 20% indica) that took first place in the Medical Sativa category at the 2014 Seattle Cannabis Cup. Originally bred in Washington by growers like Olympia Mike and A Green Cure, this vibrant strain is a cross between Lemon Skunk and Super Silver Haze.
Expect a bright, uplifting head high that brings on a surge of energy, creativity, euphoria, and motivation, often with a boost in mood and a sense of arousal. Because of these effects, it’s a go-to for treating depression, fatigue, anxiety, nausea, and chronic pain.
THC levels can climb well above 27%, putting Super Lemon Haze among the more powerful sativas out there. However, its CBD content is quite low, usually under 1%, so it’s not recommended for conditions that require high-CBD support, like seizure-related disorders.
This strain lives up to its name with a tangy lemon-candy flavor and a zesty citrus aroma, backed by a sugary sweetness. The buds are green and brown with a frosty, resin-heavy coating of trichomes, making them as sticky as they are potent.
Super Lemon Haze is especially popular along the West Coast and in British Columbia.
Super Lemon Haze is usually a safe bet, and this batch mostly delivers. The buds look great—light green with amber hairs and a nice layer of trichomes—but they’re rock hard, almost too dense.
The downside? Smell is basically non-existent, even after breaking it up, and it’s pretty dry with no stickiness.
That said, it smokes well. Smooth, easy pulls with a flavour that actually sticks around. And the high hits where it matters—doesn’t take much before you’re planted on the couch, not caring about a thing, just riding a mellow, happy buzz.
Not perfect, but it gets the job done when it counts.
