G13

G13, sometimes called G-13 or Government Indica Strain 1, is an indica-leaning hybrid (70% indica / 30% sativa) with a bit of mystery behind its origins. There are long-standing rumors that it was developed by the U.S. government during experiments with Afghani strains back in the 60s and 70s, though nothing has ever been confirmed.

Regardless of where it came from, G13 is known for its strong effects and solid potency, usually around 25% THC. The high kicks off with a quick burst of euphoria and a short-lived boost in energy and motivation. As that fades, a heavy body buzz takes over, leaving you deeply relaxed, lazy, and settled in for the long haul.

Because of these effects, G13 is often used to help manage chronic pain, stress, anxiety, depression, and insomnia.

The flavor is a mix of sweet earthiness with a smooth, slightly skunky finish. Its smell is much stronger—pungent and skunky with a somewhat overripe berry note that can come off a bit harsh.

The buds are dense and chunky, with a dark olive green color, hints of amber hairs, and a thick layer of frosty, light bluish trichomes.
